Loss, Change & Growth
Understanding Grief
Grief is a natural reaction to significant change or loss, whether that loss is incremental or sudden and drastic. Grief can arise with the loss of a loved one, a medical diagnosis, or the end of a relationship. Anticipatory Grief is the response to an expected loss and brings with it its own unique challenges.
Grief isn't something to “get over,” but rather a process of adjusting to life in the wake of what we’ve lost. It can be overwhelming, messy, and extremely painful. Often friends and family don't understand or don't have the capacity to offer the support you need. Therapy provides a safe and supportive space to explore the emotions that arise from loss and develop a way forward .
